According to their different diameters, cyclone can be divided into three types: desander, desilter and micro cyclone.
The cyclone with a diameter of 150 ~ 300mm is usually called the desander. When the input pressure is 0.2MPa, the capacity of various types of desander to treat drilling fluid is 20 ~ 12m3/n.
In normal working condition, it is capable of removing approximately 95% of cuttings larger than 74μm and approximately 50% of cuttings larger than 30μm. In order to improve the efficiency of use,
when selecting the model, the desander should be allowed to handle 1.25 times the maximum capacity at the time of drilling.
The cyclone with a diameter of 100 ~ 150 mm is usually called the desilter. When the input pressure is 0.2MPa, its processing capacity should not be less than 10 to 15 m3/h. In normal operation,
the desilter can remove about 95% of the diameter greater than 40μm. Approximately 50% of the cuttings and approximately 50% of the cuttings with a diameter greater than 15μm.
The allowable capacity of the desilter should be 1.25 to 1.5 times the maximum capacity of the drilling.
A microcyclone with a diameter of 50mm is usually called a microcyclone. When the input pressure is 0.2MPa, its processing capacity should not be less than 5m3/h separation particle size range of 7 ~ 25μm.
It is mainly used to treat certain non-weighted drilling fluids to remove ultrafine particles.
